And next, the Amigurmi germ we love to hate!

And of course next up is the germ we all currently love to hate. Below is an Amigurumi representation of the virus that causes Covid-19.  I should say having a physical representation of the virus causing this Pandemic has been very cathartic. I yelled at it, threw it across the room, and then put it in isolation (Ha take that you big dummy!) Then I did the only thing that will “kill” a virus, since it isn’t really alive but existing on the genetic material of a host. I absolutely REFUSED to host it! And I isolated the FLU and I made them stay 6 inches apart no matter what, take that!

Inspiration!

When considering my next Amigurumi creatures, and the bright colors of yarn I was using I was struck by the creative MUSE! 10 years ago I took my son and his friends to the DaVinci Science center. They had competed in the 5th Grade Science fair and I wanted to congratulate their efforts. They decided to choose toys from the gift shop that were plushies of disgusting germs and viruses in vivid detail and color. That’s when it hit me, not the virus thank goodness but the idea. And so I present my first in the series, Influenza. The pic on the right is the WHO microscopic representation of the virus that causes the Flu and next to it is my Amigarumi Flu. You will see the color appear again in one of my other Amigurumi so look for it.
